What is Equine Guided Learning? Equine Guided Learning is a safe, supportive and unique environment for participants explore and discover untapped territories of growth and learning relevant to dreams, visions, goals and ambitions. The Equine Guided Educator (horse specialist and human coach) translates into words the horse’s kinesthetic insights and feedback, providing clients with a unique alternative to traditional office-based coaching, self help workshops, and counseling. The equine-guided learning team encourages participation towards a healthy self-image by identifying strengths while challenging clients to develop and integrate new perceptions and relevant skills for achieving personal and/or professional goals.

Why Horses? Horses have been partnering with humans in health and healing since the early 1970s and Equine Guided Learning is deeply rooted throughout the historic bond of the human relationship with horses.

Only a century ago horses were an integral part of our everyday lives. They lived in our backyards; our kids rode on their backs to school. These noble animals carried our parcels, packages and medicines. Horses helped build our homes, fight our wars and settle our nation. Our ancestors embodied ‘Horse Sense’ just by being around these 1000- pound energetic beings.
Horses, like humans are social animals. They have the ability to mirror exactly what the human body language is telling them. This natural instinct makes them powerful, direct, non-verbal and non-judgmental teachers and guides.

The Two Wolves

One day an old Native American grandfather was talking to his
grandson. He said, "There are two wolves fighting inside all of us - the
wolf of fear and hate, and the wolf of
love and peace." The grandson listened, then looked up at his grandfather
and asked, "Which one will win?"
The grandfather replied,
"The one we feed."

According to Cherokee medicine man Rolling Thunder, negative thinking is
the most important internal cause of disease. Negative thinking includes not only negative thoughts about oneself but also feelings of shame, blame, low
self-esteem, greed, despair, worry, depression, anger, jealousy, and
self-centeredness. Johnny Moses, a Nootka healer, says "No evil sorcerer can do as much harm to you as you can do to yourself."

— Ken “Bear Hawk” Cohen
